In 1971 Phil Wood, a San Jose cyclist, developed a hub using sealed cartridge bearings, as opposed to the standard cup and cone variety. His brief was simple, high quality products made from the best materials and polished to a mirror finish. Simple, smart, elegant, bombproof. The range of hubs now produced is endless – you think you have an odd application? Phil probably make a hub to suit. They produce super-high quality bottom brackets too and, occasionally, some excellent single speed frames.
