Singletrack Recycled

Stafford Showground - Sunday 23rd October 2005

We'll have a stand at this event, clearing out loads of old stock and used stuff from the dawn of time. We'll have all sorts of things, including Grafton pedals, lots of purple anodised bits and much more. Swing by and see what we have that you need. Everyone's a winner.

It sure is hot here...

One less car at least.

Reynolds 953

What's that then?

Apparently, it's the next generation of super-steel. Made from stainless steel, it has an incredible strength to weight ratio and can be drawn into double butted tubes with wall thicknesses as thin as a thin thing. Superior to 853 in every way, the tubes can be lighter, stronger, more dent resistant and corrosion free. The down side is the super hardness of the material, which makes it very difficult to mitre and the skill it needs to weld such thin walled tubing.

Reynolds have been working with the guys at Independent Fabrication, who have perfected the art, and started producing test frames. There's no real talk of production dates yet, but we'll try to find out more.

Ultra light, corrosion free and with the ride of steel - how much better could it be?

More from the Desert

Here's something new - the Voodoo Canzo. It's a three or four inch adjustable travel, light weight XC bike. Comes in a gorgeous metallic pink or blue and has all the boxes ticked for high speed fun and frollicks.

Stay tuned for more Voodoo info...

Vegas, Baby...

We're in Fabulous Las Vegas for the annual Interbike trade show - there's loads of new stuff to see and more importantly, ride. Like this, the new Maverick ML7/5 - see more here.

Beer is for Winners...

Jim Morrison, one of our good friends, racers and all round nice guy, rode at the 2nd Kona 24 Hour Global Series Race, last weekend at Snow Mountain, Colorado. Not only did he acheive 20th place in the heavily contested Solo Men category, he did it, on his singlespeed Ti Spot. He's a top fellow and if you're ever in the Shifnal area, you should search out his restaurant, D'Arcy's, for the finest food for miles.

The slack, tatooed  layabout that he hangs around with, Jam, only managed a poor 22nd place. We'll be having stern team talks with him, I can tell you.

Winter Boots

It's getting wet out there, so what you need are some comfy dry feet. Enter Shimano with their new MT90 Winter boot. Goretex lined, Vibram sole and speed lacing for easy removal when they're clarted up. We've got good stocks at present all the way up to size 48, but Shimano tend to run out of these things well before you really need them - act now, stay dry for winter...

Call or Mail for more details.

Surly Singlespeed Sprockets...

They're here.

3/32" wide at the teeth and nearly a foot wide at the base, they'll hold your chain and not screw up your freehub body. Made from Hardmetalium (TM) , they'll last for a looong time and as they come in sizes from 13 to 22 tooth, there's one for every occasion. Mail or call for more details...

Ex-Demo Clearout...

We're getting rid of a few of our demo bikes and stuff, so to start with we've a few pairs of Maverick DUC32's for you. See here for more details.

We'll be going through the bike fleet in the next few days too - so stay tuned for a bargain...

Llandegla...

If you're planning a visit to the newest Welsh riding centre, it would certainly be worth taking a change of clothes.

Although the mud isn't deep - it's certainly invasive, but the trails are rideable and once they've bedded in a little more they'll be great. There's an excellent visitors centre and cafe on site too, with bike wash!

Plans are afoot to add some more technically challenging trails in the near future too, but we reckon it's off to a good start - go see for yourself.
